How long have you been on the keto diet? Since June 13, 2017 and still going strong!

Starting Weight: 165 pounds

Ending Weight: 147 pounds (so close to 20!)

Tell us a little about yourself.

I’m a stay-at-home mom and wife. I have lived in the Raleigh-Durham area for the past 17 years and love it here.

How did you hear about the keto diet?

From someone at my CrossFit gym.

Why did you decide to try the keto diet?

I was intrigued whether it was really good for you and if I would lose weight, so figured I would give it a try for 30 days.

What other diets have you tried? How does keto compare?

I had been on and off Weight Watchers FOREVER (since my 20s) so I was used to eating low-fat or fat-free. This is such a different mindset compared to what I used to think about food. The Keto diet is much more fun and enjoyable!

What was the most challenging aspect(s) of the keto diet?

Getting enough fat into my diet and keeping my protein intake low.

How did you overcome your top challenge(s)?

Researching high-fat foods and taking my meal replacement shakes helped a lot.

Why did you decide to participate in The Keto 30 challenge?

Who doesn’t like a challenge?! Plus, it helped keep me accountable and answer questions along the way.

How did you feel while doing The Keto 30?

I only felt poorly for a day and then had lots of energy and mental clarity for the remainder of the 30 days.

What was your favorite part about The Keto 30?

It was fun watching my body change and become more muscular and less flabby.

What was your least favorite part?

The stomach upset while adjusting to eating more fat.

Try it! It is totally worth it and you will feel great during it.

I’m so glad this new way of eating was introduced to me. I can’t believe that being in ketosis can have so many positive health benefits. I love the changes in my body and have never felt as strong as I do today.
